Best Black Friday TV Deals in Canada (2026)

TV deals are easy to misjudge because sizes, panel types and model years get mixed together. This page lists current TV deals from the retailers we cover and explains what to compare.

We link to retailers and do not sell TVs, so confirm the exact model, price and delivery terms on the retailer's page.

LED, QLED, OLED and Mini-LED in plain terms

Most TVs use an LCD panel lit from behind by LEDs. QLED adds a quantum-dot layer to the LCD to improve colour, and Mini-LED uses many more, smaller backlights, which can give better control over bright and dark areas. OLED panels light each pixel individually, which allows very dark blacks.

Each approach has trade-offs in brightness, price and suitability for your room. A bright living room and a dark home theatre can favour different panels.

Screen size vs how far you sit

Bigger is not always better in a smaller room. Measure the distance between your seat and the wall, and the space available, before you choose a size.

Higher resolution tends to matter more on larger screens or when you sit close. For modest sizes at normal distances, the difference between resolutions can be hard to see.

Refresh rate, HDMI ports and what consoles need

A higher refresh rate gives smoother motion, which matters most for fast sports and for gaming. Check the TV's native refresh rate in its specifications, because some marketing terms describe image processing rather than the panel itself.

If you play on a recent console or a gaming PC, check that the HDMI ports support the features your device uses, such as high frame rates and variable refresh rate, and how many ports offer them.

Model numbers and retailer-exclusive versions

TVs from the same line can share a name while differing in panel, processor or ports, and some models are made for particular retailers. The model number identifies the exact set.

Compare the model number with the manufacturer's specifications before assuming one listing is a better deal than another.

Delivery, wall mounting and returning a large item

A large TV raises practical questions: how it is delivered and when, whether the retailer brings it inside, and whether assembly or wall mounting is included or an extra charge.

Check the return policy for large items as well. Returning a boxed TV is harder than returning a small device, so inspect it carefully on arrival and keep the packaging for as long as the return window allows.

Built-in sound vs a soundbar

Slim TVs often have modest built-in speakers. A soundbar or separate speakers can improve dialogue and volume, but they add cost and need compatible connections, so include them when you compare total prices.

Is Black Friday a good time to buy a TV, or is Boxing Day better?

Neither period is certain to be better, and we cannot say which will have the lower price for the set you want. What matters most is the exact model, its size and the date you need it by.

TVs are often sold by model year, and a retailer may price last year's model differently from the current one. Compare the model numbers before treating a lower price as a better deal, and check the delivery and return terms for large items.

How we choose the deals on this page

We include active deals in our Electronics category that are priced in Canadian dollars.

For this page we also look for product names that contain words such as TV, television or HDTV, and we leave out titles that clearly describe accessories such as TV mounts, stands, remotes or antennas. This keeps the list focused but can still miss a TV whose title does not use one of those terms.

Deals are ordered using the information we have: a badge where one has been set, the discount where a retailer's regular price is listed, how recently we checked the deal, and then price.

Deals are added by us or imported from affiliate retailer feeds, and we show a last-checked time only where we have recorded one. We do not use price-history data and cannot promise that a listed price is the lowest available anywhere. Prices, availability and terms are set by retailers and can change.

Not every “sale” is a real discount. Read how to spot a real Black Friday deal and our affiliate disclosure.
